Although Skin Cancer Awareness month is celebrated during the month of May, it truly should be an all-year type of awareness. However, in honor of what Alta Vista Dermatology deems most important, we (too) are celebrating this very important type of awareness!
With skin cancer on the rise worldwide, and even more detrimental in areas of higher altitude and prolonged periods of sunshine (such as our home in metro-Denver), it is so important to be proactive and receive annual skin checks with a board certified Dermatologist such as Dr. Szabo and Dr. Draper or one of our Physician Assistants. Your skin exam may be as simple as a once-over with an ‘all-clear and we’ll see you in a year’ or we may choose to biopsy one or more suspicious lesions to rule out any potential skin cancer lesions. Either way, early detection is key and it starts with the your full body skin exams.
